SACO — Donald E. Beaudoin, 78, of Saco died on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Seaside Health Care in Portland after a brief illness.

He was born on July 18, 1938 to Ernest and Lena (Bosse) Beaudoin in Biddeford. He graduated from Thornton Academy in 1958.

On Feb. 14, 1964, Don joined the United States Army. He served two tours, one in Germany and one in Vietnam.

He worked as an auto body technician in the local area for 40 years before retiring in 2001 due to ill health. Don had pride in his work and took meticulous attention to detail, especially when restoring classic cars, and in his hobby of making model cars. 

He is preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Tripp; and two brothers, Paul and Ernest Beaudoin.

Donald is survived by his wife of 18 years, Shirley Beaudoin of Antrim, New Hampshire; a daughter, Diana Beaudoin of Winthrop, Massachusetts; two stepdaughters, Laurie Jacques of The Villages, Florida and Judith Beckman of Antrim, New Hampshire; a sister, Doris Tripp of Saco; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated immediately following at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald’s name may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel.
