KENNEBUNK — The Yarmouth girls lacrosse team would pick up a 7-3 win over hosting Kennebunk in a 2016 Class B state title game rematch in which the Rams would win.

Yarmouth’s Cory Langenbach would get the Clippers on the board with an early goal, shortly followed by another free position goal to give Yarmouth 2-0 advantage.

Despite a goal from Hallie Schwartzman that cut the deficit to 2-1, the Clippers would add another goal by Eliza Lunt to take the 3-1 lead at half, and would come out firing in the second and put up two more goals by Katie Waeldner and Lane to put the game out of reach for the Rams.

Gabby Fogg would tally a score late in the second half for Kennebunk, as well as teammate Erin Groton, however Yarmouth would also add two more goals front Lunt and Antolini to secure the win and avenge the 2016 loss.

Biddeford 16, Noble 1

The Tigers would cruise to a 16-1 win over hosting Noble on Thursday to improve to 9-1 and break the program’s record for wins in a season.

Peyton McKeown continued to impress for Biddeford, picking up a whopping seven goals and three assists in the win. Paige Laverriere, Hailey Allen and Grace Boisvert each picked up a hat trick as well, as the Tigers continued to prove itself as an offensive force in the Southern conference.

Eliza Gilliam and Ella McKenzie combined for 10 saves in the cage for the Tigers.

Rylee Collins netted the Knights’ lone goal, while goalie Kelly Cremmen recorded 12 saves in the loss.

Girls Tennis

Massabesic 4, Sanford 1

The Mustangs would pick up a 4-1 win over rival Sanford on Wednesday.

Massabesic’s Thyme Whitten topped Alaina Parison 6-0, 6-1 while Joanna LaFrance topped Alli Plante 6-0, 6-0 to give Massabesic the 2-0 lead. Sanford’s Corinne Lawrance would grind out a 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 win over Ivorie Dickinson to cut the lead to 2-1 heading into the doubles matches.

Katie Dupuis and Lyliana Pelletier would clinch the victory for Massabesic, winning their doubles match against Hannah Miller and Emilee Mathieu 7-5, 6-1. Sarah Doyle and Elizabeth Brown would then top Lauren Fink and Kim Works 6-3, 6-4 to secure the 4-1 win.
