
She was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Westbrook a daughter of Amidie and Mary (Henderson) Rioux and was educated in Portland schools.
On May 16, 1949, she married Richard Weiss in Portland.
She had been employed with Pepperell Manufacturing Co. for nine years and had been a certified nursing assistant at the Webber Hospital/Southern Maine Medical Center for 14 years, retiring in 1983 due to injury.
She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and flower gardening in a local greenhouse.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1988; and preceded in death by all six of her siblings.
Surviving are: four daughters, Cynthia Ruel of Sanford, Linda Lachance and her husband, Paul, of Dayton, Joni Weiss of Saco, and Sharon Weiss of Augusta; two sons, Robert J. Weiss of Waterboro and Richard H. Weiss Jr. of Arundel; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no visiting hours; services will be private.
