TOPSHAM — Topsham police found themselves a pair of cows that had escaped from an area of West Merrill Road and were blocking traffic on Route 196 overnight Sunday.
Two officers chased the cows onto Old Lisbon Loop Road, according to Sgt. Robert Ramsay.
“I spoke with Bisson farm and they were nice enough to bring a cattle truck to our location and we were able to get one in the cattle truck,” said Ramsay.
The other steer would not cooperate, he said.
Officer William Collins located the cows’ owner Monday, who was able to retrieve the remaining animal.
