BATH

No one was hurt when a tractor trailer truck collided with a low clearance railroad bridge on Old Bath Road Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported at 10:22 a.m.

Bath Police Lt. Robert Savary said the impact didn’t appear to dislodge the bridge. The railroad company was notified.

Savary said the road was closed for a couple hours from New Meadows Road in West Bath in order to clear debris.

The low clearance railroad overpass has been struck by trucks before. In June 2013 a tractor trailer truck became lodged under the bridge after the driver misjudged the bridge’s height.
