TOPSHAM — On Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m., Ernest G. DeRaps, formerly of the U. S. Coast Guard, will show slides and give a talk about his family’s life in three Penobscot Bay lighthouses and his own experiences in an isolated lighthouse south of Vinalhaven. DeRaps, a Maine native, is the author of “ Lighthouse Keeping” which he wrote in collaboration with his late wife, Pauline Fitzgerald DeRaps, who shared her perspective on living the lighthouse lifestyle.
