HARPSWELL — John D. Eastman, Jr., age 84, died at his home in the morning of Monday, July 24, 2017.
He was born in Cundy’s Harbor on August 29, 1932, a son of John and Eleanora Harley Eastman.
He was a graduate of Brunswick High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Elizabeth “Liz” Leland in Cundy’s Harbor, on February 14, 1963. A fisherman his entire life, he continued to helm his own vessel until this year.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth and their dog, Michael; a brother Herbert Eastman and his wife Sue of Cundy’s Harbor; four sisters, Mary Welner of Cundy’s Harbor, Lillian Everhart of Cundy’s Harbor, Lucille Eastman of Cundy’s Harbor, Virginia Eastman and her partner Michael Noyes of Cundy’s Harbor; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2pm Friday, July 28, 2017 in Cranberryhorn Cemetery, Cundy’s Harbor Road, Harpswell.
