James Michael Ripoll, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on April 15, 2017. He was known to friends and family as Rip, Jim, or Jimmy. Jim was born on October 15, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York. He served honorably in The United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer 1st Class, and he was very proud of his military service. He served during two wars and retired after twenty years. He recently attended a VP-11 reunion in Brunswick, Maine. Jim was a very hard worker and had just recently retired. He had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed photography, computers, electronics, and making things with leather. He also enjoyed traveling. He and his partner, Shelly, traveled all over the world together. He is survived by many family members from New York and Florida, a granddaughter, Teresa, and her family, and a grandson, Michael, and his family. Michael is very proud to carry on his grandfather’s name. James’ service was held on May 10, 2017 at Long Island National Cemetary in Farmingale, New York. He was buried with full military honors.
