While I certainly do not condone the violence in Charlottesville, it seems to me that most, if not all, of the efforts in the country to move or remove statues and change street names that are related to the Civil War are being fostered by local politicians trying to be politically correct.

I may be wrong, but I am unaware of any large movement making requests for the aforementioned actions. As political correctness continues to divide our country, what will be next? Moving or renaming the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial, as both of these Founding Fathers were slave owners? Or will the PC police simply want them torn down?
