During this period, she enjoyed using her voice in several church choirs and for many years enjoyed teaching children as a church school teacher. She also served as a guide with Stonecroft Ministries and became quite proficient as an artist with oils, acrylics and water colors.

Surviving are two sons, W. Scott and his wife Brenda of Dexter and Mark and his wife Lynn of Sanford; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
