LISBON
Three people were arrested Sunday night after an Androscoggin Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a car that police say was reported stolen.
According to Chief Deputy William Gagne, a gray Saturn was reported stolen earlier in the day by the Lewiston police.
Gagne said Deputy Vic Barr was traveling on Route 9 around 7:30 p.m. in Lisbon where he spotted the vehicle. Police said Barr activated his emergency lights and the vehicle initially accelerated before quickly turning onto Lower Drive and stopping at the end of that dead end roadway.
Bobbie Sue Anctil, 24, of Sabattus, was allegedly driving the vehicle, according to police.
Police say she was charged with theft by unauthorized use of property, furnishing liquor to a minor, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of scheduled drug and operating after suspension.
Police said passengers Benjamin Kennagh, 19, and Tyler Labonte, 20, were also arrested. Both were charged with theft by unauthorized use of property and minor consuming liquor, police said.
As of Thursday, Gagne said Kennagh and Labonte posted bail but Anctil was still at Androscoggin County Jail. The three are scheduled to appear in court Jan. 10, 2018, Gagne said.
Lisbon and Sabattus police assisted with the arrest, according to Lisbon Police Chief Marc Hagan.
