The town of Lisbon closed out 2017 by launching a new website, the town announced in a press release Friday.
Virtual Towns and Schools was selected to complete the project after what the town called a “very competitive process” in the spring of 2017. The new website can still be found at the same address of lisbonme.org.
According to the press release, the new website was designed to have a clean and simple appearance, be easy to navigate, and content and functionality that was driven by the needs of its users. Those users include residents, businesses, investors, and visitors.
“The old site was outdated and not mobile responsive.
We are hoping with the new site, folks will find the information quicker and easier without all the clicking they had to do on the old site,” said Tracy Steuber, Lisbon’s Econoimc and Community Development director.
The new website also offers the ability to submit a service request online and included an Emergency Banner to send out emergency news to residents and businesses.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
