LIMINGTON — A suspect wanted on a probation revocation warrant in connection with a domestic violence assault ran into the woods behind an Ossipee Trail home Monday, but sheriff’s deputies were soon able to catch up with him.

York County Sheriff  William King said Limington Contract Deputy Eric Tranque had received intelligence that Christopher Levesque, 24, was at an Ossipee Trail residence.

King said the tipster knew that Levesque was wanted on a probation revocation warrant.

“About 3:15 p.m., Tranque and another deputy arrived at the house to locate Levesque,” said King in a news release.  “However, when they arrived he fled into the wooded area behind the residence.”

Deputies followed Levesque’s foot tracks to Route 25 and from there determined he crossed the street to access a snowmobile trail. Deputies continued to track Levesque for about 20 minutes until they caught up to him, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Levesque, of Hollis, was arrested on the probation revocation warrant, for which no bail was allowed and he was taken to York County Jail in Alfred.

He was also charged with refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
