HARPSWELL — Paula A. (Fides) Jenne, age 69, of Great Island passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at her home with her husband at her side. She fought a long, difficult battle with lung cancer.
Paula was born October 27, 1948 at Gardiner General Hospital, the daughter of Avery M. and Marion Woodbury Fides of Bowdoinham and Orr’s Island.
She graduated from Brunswick High School and attended Ricker College in Houlton, Maine where she met her husband John D. Jenne from Jersey City, New Jersey. Paula was an accomplished creative knitter, sewer, and beaded jewelry maker. She also was a passionate Democrat who was active in local politics.
Paula is predeceased by her brother, Tracy Fides, and is survived by her husband, John, her sisters, Susan Fides of Topsham, Deborah Fides of Brunswick, Georgie Fides of South Portland, a niece, Candy Mayhew of Waterboro, a nephew, Aaron Fides of Greenfield, MA, a great niece and three great nephews.
A gathering will be held at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal Humane Society of Brunswick, or Harpswell Aging in Place.
