FREEPORT — Mary Lucille Coffill, age 86, of Spring Street, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. She was born on December 7, 1931, in Brunswick, the daughter of Edgar Sr. and Florence Deforge Bergeron.
She attended Brunswick schools and worked at the Verney Mill. Mary also worked at several area shoe shops, including Freeport Shoe, Maine Shoe and Eastland shoe until retiring.
She was predeceased by her first husband William Hughes, her second husband Thomas Coffill and a daughter Diane Hughes.
She enjoyed going to the fairs, horse racing and playing beano.
Surviving is a daughter Billie Soule. Four sisters, Lydia, Priscilla, Simone, and Suzanne. A brother, Edgar Jr. Six grandchildren Sara, Michael, Mary, Derah, David and Eryn. Nine great-grandchildren and two greatgreat grandchildren. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, where memorial condolences may be expressed at stetsonsfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
