ORONO — The Class A swimming and diving state championships were earlier this week at the University of Maine, and the Kennebunk Rams had an impressive fourth-place performance to cap off the winter season.
Isabel Harms took second place in the 500 yard freestyle, while Taylor Nguyen finished third in diving. Grace Soucy also had a third-place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. Harms would later finish fourth in the 200 free.
The 200 free relay team of Britta Brown, Ella Yentsch, Nina Sharp and Grace Thompson finished in fifth, while Yentsch, Soucy, Harms and Brown took fifth in the 400 free relay. The 200 medley relay team of Harms, Soucy, Grace Girard and Sharp took fifth place.
Yentsch also finished in fifth place in the 200 free, while Maggie Nguyen took fifth in diving. Yentsch later took sixth in the 100 free while Soucy claimed eigth place in the 200 IM.
Wells’ Hannah Bradish finished fourth in the diving competition.
