He was born on March 19, 1931 in Hapton, Lancashire, England. In 1949 graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Lancashire and in 1953 he graduated from Trinity College in Dublin with his B.A. From 1953 to 1961 he served in the 4th Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery as a Sergeant. He then graduated from Trinity College Medical School in 1965 with a MB., BCh, BAO, cum laude. He served his internship at Riverside Hospital in Toledo, Ohio in 1966 where he later served his residency for anesthesiology until 1970. From 1970 to 1996 he held his private practice anesthesiology at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia. He was the founding member of the Anesthesia Associates in Roanoke.
He was a reserve officer
(Major) in the United
States Army Medical
Corps.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Grace Episcopal Church, Bath. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.
