Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Margo C. Foster has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas, following an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2017 graduate of Lake Region Union High School at Orleans, Vermont, Foster is the daughter of Kimberly and Glenn Foster of Newport Center, Vermont, and granddaughter of Cliff and Ruth Foster of Gray and Allen and Stella Messer of Poland.

Zachary Grant of Brunswick has accepted an offer to attend the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, following his nomination by Rep. Chellie Pingree in December.

Grant is a senior at Brunswick High School. His parents are Joey and Melissa Grant.

To be considered for a service academy, applicants must be nominated by an authorized nominating source, which includes members of Congress.
