SACO — Alice Blanche Lagueux, 87, of Saco, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born July 17, 1931 in Salmon Falls, New Hampshire, a daughter of Donat and Noella (Turcotte) Barabe.  Educated in Biddeford Schools, she was a 1949 graduate of Biddeford High School.

Alice worked for four years at Bates Manufacturing Co. and, on May 30, 1953 she married Lionel T. Lagueux in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.  She later worked for 12 years at John Roberts, Inc. in Biddeford, retiring in 1978.

She had been a member of St. Andre’s Group Home, The Kimball Center, and the Biddeford Senior Citizens.   Her interests included traveling, reading, and playing cards.

Preceding her in death were four siblings: a brother, Norbert Barabe and three sisters, Gertrude Mailhout, Yvette Turcotte, and Mary Dichard.

Alice is survived by Lionel T. Lagueux, her husband of 65 years, of Saco; two sons David Lagueux and wife Nadine and Mark Lagueux and Doree Lagueux; three grandchildren, Alan and Nicholas Lagueux and Amanda Jones; three great-grandchildren, Joshua and Frank Lagueux and Anastasia Jones; and nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be in Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Hope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
