‘Green Monstah’
A mix of 38 children and adults in Buxton Sept. 22 attended a dedication of the “Green Monstah Wall” and wiffle ball field at the residence of Ken Aldrich on Flaggy Meadow Road.
The wall honors the famous Red Sox icon at Fenway Park in Boston. “Special thanks go to the lead sponsor, Sullivan Tire, represented by Mr.and Mrs. Dave Dow, Westbrook store manager, and Gary O’Connor from Scarborough, who built the eight-foot high Red Sox sign,” Aldrich said in an email.
Aldrich said the kids played a “rousing game” won by the home team Red Sox. After the game, Fenway Franks were served up and the kids swam in the pool.
Girl Scouts ‘Night Out’
Girl Scouts of Maine will host Girls’ Night Out at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, at Buxton Center Elementary School, 912 Long Plains Road.
The free event provides information and opportunity for girls and families to learn about Girl Scouts. “Girl Scouts helps girls develop their full potential,” Joanne Crepeau, CEO of Girl Scouts of Maine, said in a press release.
