On September 14th, 2018, Hilda Mae Tyler, 84 of Woolwich and Port St. Lucie FL, was called home to her Lord.  She was born on June 23, 1934 to Harriet (Dodge) and Lester H. Vinal.  Hilda married US Air Force T/Sgt. M. Dean Harper of Wisconsin in 1952 and was widowed in January 1957, when she returned to Maine with her babies.  In 1959 she married Dale Tyler and together they raised their family in Woolwich where she worked as a homemaker and bookkeeper for Tyler’s Auto Repair.  She was an active member of the Woolwich-Wiscasset Baptist Church and a generous supporter and volunteer of Chop Point Camp.

Hilda was a loving, kind and generous soul of strong faith, always helping those in need.  She was an avid rock-hound who enjoyed finding gemstones, having them fashioned into jewelry for family and friends.  Some of the happiest times of her life were the four years she and Dale spent in Alaska.

Hilda is survived by her sisters; June Gudroe and Evelyn Showstead, her three children; Gary Harper and partner Terry Cummings Blodget (her daughters Kayla and Christina) of Bath, Vicki Harper Wooten and husband Jay of Port St. Lucie, Lori Tyler and partner Mike Thibeault of Wiscasset, beloved grandchildren; Ally Harper, Jeremy Harper and Cliff Halstrom, daughter-in-law; Becky Hartley, as well as several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends; Barbara Small and Mary Tangney.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale Tyler, brothers Lester and William Vinal, and sister Ramona Vinal.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
