Ernest G. Jennison (Ernie), age 66, of 385 Ridge Road, North Bath, died at his home on October 20, 2018. He was born in Quonset Point, Rhode Island, on December 31, 1951, to Carmen and George Jennison.

He graduated from Morse High School in June 1970. He was a two-time state wrestling champion and played football helping lead the team to three state championships. After graduating from high school, Ernie enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served from 1971 to 1975.

In 1982 Ernie started working at Bath Iron Works as a ship fitter. He spent the next 22 years there retiring in 2004.

A kind, generous old sole, Ernie live a simple happy life. He enjoyed watching horse racing, the Patriots and the Red Sox. He was even known to place a bet or two. He was a member of the Bath Lodge of Elks and American Legion Post 21. Ernie had a very close group of friends who will miss him and his loud boisterous voice dearly.

Ernie is survived by his mother, Carmen Jennison of Shirley, Maine; brother John Jennison of Shirley, Maine and many nieces, nephews and cousins and very close friends. He is preceded in death by his father, George Jennison Sr. and a brother, George Jennison Jr.

A Catholic Mass is scheduled for November 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at The Holy Family Church at 145 Pritham Ave., Greenville, Maine. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 17, 2018, at the Bath Country Club from noon to 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ernie’s life.
