Turkey for seniors group

Westbrook Senior Citizens will be served a turkey dinner when the group meets at noon Monday, Nov. 19, at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.

The meal includes stuffing, gravy, veggies and pumpkin pie.

The group still has a few seats available for a Sunday, Dec. 2, trip to Indian Head in Lincoln, New Hampshire. For more information, call 854-2705 or 883-5046.

Poetry series

The Lowry’s Lodge Poetry Series continues at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Continuum for Creativity, 863 Main St., with featured poets Cathryn Wilson and David Surette. The suggested donation is $4 and the event includes light fare.

Mill Brook trails opening

The Presumpscot Regional Land Trust will celebrate the grand opening of  the Mill Brook family-friendly trails at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.

The event includes a guided walk with a scavenger hunt lasting about one hour and a guided two-mile walk focusing on the natural history and wildlife in the area.

Festival of Trees dates set

The annual Festival of Trees will kick off Saturday, Dec. 1, and continue through Saturday, Dec. 8, at Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St.

Past District Governor Lawrence Furbish, left, recenty presented a certificate of recognition to Westbrook Gorham Rotary Past President Bill Chadwick for the club’s contribution of $4,547 in the past year toward ending polio worldwide. The club has contributed $28,423 since 1998.
