Touch a truck,
light a tree

The town of Buxton is inviting the public to a free family event that includes the third annual holiday Touch-A-Truck on Sunday, Nov. 25, at Buxton Public Works on Portland Road.

The event will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. with a tree lighting at 6 p.m. Trucks and cruisers will be decked out and refreshments will include hot cocoa, candy canes, cotton candy and popcorn.

Sponsors include the Buxton police, fire, public works and recreation departments. Donations will be accepted for local food pantries.

Historical society
open house

The Buxton-Hollis Historical Society open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at its headquarters, 100 Main St., Bar Mills.

The store will be open and members will receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases. The library and the Bar Mills exhibit will also be open.

Light refreshments will be served for all to enjoy.
