Remember a veteran

The South Buxton Cemetery Association, participating in Wreaths Across America, is accepting orders for wreaths to decorate graves of veterans.

The association will have a ceremony 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in the cemetery’s Woodman section. Those ordering wreaths can designate specific grave for placement or the cemetery association will select a location.

Wreaths are $15 each and orders must be received by Saturday, Dec. 1. Checks should be made out to WAA and mailed to SBCA, P.O. Box 405, Bar Mills, Maine 04004.

Open house

The Buxton-Hollis Historical Society open house is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Saturday, Dec. 1, at its headquarters, 100 Main St., Bar Mills (Buxton).

The store will be open and members receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases. Light refreshments will be served.

Rabies clinic

A rabies vaccination clinic will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Public Works Garage, 215 Portland Road, Buxton.

The cost is $8 per vaccination, cash only. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers. For faster service, bring previous rabies vaccination certificates.  Anyone from any community is welcome. The clinic is sponsored by the Hollis Animal Clinic, towns of Buxton and Hollis, and the Vacationland Dog Club.

Christmas concert

The Westbrook City Band will present a free concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, at North Congregational Church, 22 Church Hill Road, Buxton (Groveville).
