The Westbrook High School Drama Club presents “Clue on Stage,” with shows at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Dec 6-8, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the high school. Tickets are $10; $5, students.

Seniors to meet

Westbrook Senior Citizens will meet at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the Community Center, 426 Bridge St.

Ann McAlpine, spokeswoman for the seniors, said Red Gallagher will provide entertainment. McAlpine said he’s a “man of many talents.”

Mad Hatters tea

GFWC Westbrook Woman’s Club will host the annual Mad Hatters Tea Party at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St.

Tea and cookies will be served and those attending are reminded to wear their Christmas hats. The Lighthouse Jubilees will provide entertainment with traditional Christmas music.

The tea is being held during the Festival of Trees celebration.

1888 cold case

Westbrook native Peter Murray will reveal a story of a killing on Cumberland Street in 1888 when the Westbrook Historical Society meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Community Center, 426 Bridge St.

It is Westbrook’s first unsolved murder. “They never found the killer,” Mayor Mike Sanphy said.

Murray is a chef, writer and retired Westbrook police officer.

The historical society’s next meeting will be February. Sanphy said the society has its 2019 calendars, featuring pictures of old Westbrook, available for $15. The calendars will be sold at the Dec. 5 meeting and also available 9 a.m.-noon on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Community Center.

Blood donations

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Saint Hyacinth’s Church, 295 Brown St., Westbrook.
