The Westbrook American reported Dec. 31, 1958, that George H. Irish, 82, died at his home in Gorham where he was a lifelong resident. He was born March 31, 1876.
In a review of the year, an article noted that Gorham had voted for a town manager form of government and Elden Shute had been named its first manager.
