History of gravestones
The history of local gravestones will be the topic at a Buxton-Hollis Historical Society meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the society’s headquarters, 100 Main St. in Bar Mills.
Cemetery historian and author Ron Romano will present “Early Gravestones in Buxton & Hollis–The Genius of Bartlett Adams.” Romano will show images of the artwork and symbolism of early gravestones found in the two towns. He’ll have books available to autograph and sell.
The suggested donation $10, seniors $8.
