June M. Ramsey

SOUTH PORTLAND – June M. Ramsey, 78, of Kelley Street died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 of natural causes.

June was born in Portland on Jan. 21, 1943, the daughter of the late Harlan and Mary J. (Krasowski) Strom. She attended local schools and graduated from South Portland High School in the class of 1961.

June worked in human resources for Tyler Machine Company in Portland for many years before they moved to South Portland and merged with Portland Valve Company where she continued to work, retiring in the mid 2000’s after more than 25 years of service to the company.

Always wanting to stay busy, and able to accomplish what ever task she set her mind to, June was always taking on a project or attending a class to improve her skills. She loved doing all types of crafts, she loved to sew and quilt and could make anything. She loved to dance and was often enrolled in a dance class which may have been clogging, ballet, tap or just attending local dances with friends. Friends and family always enjoyed and admired the beautiful gardens in her back yard. She was an awesome cook and family always looked forward to the holidays because they knew June always had her homemade fudge and needhams to share.

June was a very independent woman who take a great deal of pride in all that she did. She will long be remembered by family and friends as an ambitious, compassionate, amazing and saint-like woman who will be truly missed by many.

June is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Kinsley of Tennessee, a son, Charles Ramsey III of Standish; grandchildren, Courtney and her husband Devin Carroll of Tennessee, Brittney Ringuette of Tennessee, Adam Ringuette of Tennessee, Charles “Kyle” Ramsey IV of Standish, Alix and her husband Marcus Whitman of Standish, Sadie Ramsey of Standish, Aiden Ramsey of Standish; four great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Corbin, Paisley, and Jessalynn Carroll, all of Tennessee; two sisters, Janice Brown of Connecticut, and Jean Frewin of Scarborough; several nieces and nephews.
