John Edward Anderson

SOUTH BERWICK – John Edward Anderson, son of the late Robert K. and Isabelle S. Anderson, died Jan. 12, 2021 at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, N.H. at the age of 77.

Originally from Mason, N.H., John graduated from UNH with a degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation, he was commissioned in the US Army and served two tours in Vietnam where he was awarded two Bronze Stars. John continued his service in the Maine Army National Guard and achieved the rank of Major.

After his military career, John was a real estate developer, with a keen interest in urban redevelopment. He later worked as a commercial construction superintendent and project manager throughout New England. John lived and worked in Portland and South Berwick until relocating to Rumney, N.H.

He is survived by sons Eric Anderson and Ryan Anderson and their families, including three grandchildren; sister Mary Bonner and brothers Gerald Anderson and Robert Anderson, and their families.
