Ruth A. Burleigh

SANFORD – Ruth A. Burleigh, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 at the Kennebunk Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1932 to Andrew and Delta (Libby) Duprey in Sherman, Maine where her grandmother lived. She grew up in Sanford and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School class of 1950.

Ruth loved her family and was very proud to be a grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Earnest Burleigh and a brother Andrew J. Duprey. Survivors include her three sons, Bob Burleigh and his wife Lorraine of Kennebunk, Richard Burleigh of Riverside, Calif., and Randy Burleigh and his wife Joy of Wells, her daughter Doris Edenfield and her husband Darrell of Tifton, Ga.; a brother Paul Duprey of Sanford; seven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
