Donald J. Perreault

LIMINGTON – Donald J. Perreault, 71, of Limington, passed away Feb. 4, 2021 after a hard-fought battle from COVID-19 at Maine Medical Center, in Portland.

Don was born in Biddeford on June 22, 1949, the eldest of six children of Louis and Giselle (Blaise) Perreault. Don was raised in Saco and attended Thornton Academy. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U S. Marine Corps and served his Country proudly overseas in Vietnam. When returning home, he met Nancy Demers of Biddeford and they soon married.

Don worked as nuclear pipe fitter/welder at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for more than 30 years.

He and Nancy had two children, daughter Kelynda Johnson 46, of Limington and son Tyson Perreault 44, of Boston.

Don spent most of his free time outdoors hunting, fishing, ice fishing and riding ATVs. In 2006 Nancy, his wife of 33 years passed away and Don decided to retire in 2010.

Don met his wife Susan Butts of East Elmhurst, N.Y. in 2010. He chose to love again, and he and Susan married in 2012 as Don also welcomed his new stepson Arthur High into his life. Don enjoyed working on his home and dove into retirement alternating riding his Harley, Four-Wheeler and in between Corvettes, his prize Shelby Cobra.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family before deciding to “Get a little Waterfront” moving his family from Lyman to settle down on Sand Pond in Limington.

Don is survived by his loving wife Susan, his children Kelynda Johnson and Tyson Perreault and wife Julie; along with stepson Arthur; and grandchildren Kaiden and Taylor; his brother Ronald Perreault and wife Claudette, his sister Doris Michaud and her husband Howie, and sister Annette Brouchard and her husband Joseph; along with several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Richard Perreault and Thomas Perreault.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Southern Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a future date in the spring.
