Patricia A. Evans

WINDHAM – Patricia A. Evans, 62, of Clark Drive died peacefully on Monday Feb. 8, 2021 at her home following a long illness, her loving family was by her side.

Patty was born in Portland on Nov. 3, 1958 the daughter of the late Kingsbury C. Croxford and Lorene M. (Cash) DePrez. She attended local schools and graduated from South Portland High School in the class of 1976.

Patty married the love of her life, Dennis R. Evans and together, they shared 45 years.

Having worked as a deli manager for Hannaford for 18 years, Patty then moved to Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield where she had a 20-plus year career in insurance claims.

In her spare time, Patty loved to cook and bake for family and friends, she was an avid collector of many things including trolls, Beanie Babies, Willow Tree figurines, Anna Lee Dolls and, most recently, anything Mandalorian.

She was a veracious reader, enjoyed camping and road trips with her family and was always ready for a trip to Willard Beach. Patty was a friend to anyone she knew. She cherished the time spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She will long be remembered as a loving, compassionate, caring and witty firecracker who always put others ahead of herself.

Patty was predeceased by a brother, Charlie Croxford.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Evans of Windham; a daughter, Renee and her husband James Lizotte of South Carolina, three sons, Dennis Croxford and his companion, Tasha Townsend of Waterboro, David Croxford of Windham, and James Croxford and his companion Courtney Downs of Windham; sisters, Marie Croxford of South Portland, Pam and her husband Chuck LaMay of South Portland, and Ellie Califano of Harrison, brothers, Ed Croxford and his companion, Robin Monroe of South Portland, and David and his wife Cindy Croxford of Gorham; 13 grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mi Yon of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours celebrating Patty’s life will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland.
