FREEPORT — The town of Freeport is looking for public input on community planning for the town’s downtown area.

From now through May, the town council, the Freeport Economic Development Corporation and a team of planners and local residents are working on a plan to reimagine the downtown area, according to the town’s website.

The town encourages the public to take an online survey at before March 22. The town also suggests visiting its website, at for updates, and to sign up for a mailing list for more announcements.

According to the statement, the planning process will create an Early Action Plan. If approved by the council, the plan “will provide a framework for clear implementation actions and strategies for resiliency in light of COVID-19 and the changing retail landscape.”
