FREEPORT — The town of Freeport is looking for public input on community planning for the town’s downtown area.
From now through May, the town council, the Freeport Economic Development Corporation and a team of planners and local residents are working on a plan to reimagine the downtown area, according to the town’s website.
The town encourages the public to take an online survey at https://principlegroup.typeform.com/to/txXluoer before March 22. The town also suggests visiting its website, at www.freeportdowntown.me for updates, and to sign up for a mailing list for more announcements.
According to the statement, the planning process will create an Early Action Plan. If approved by the council, the plan “will provide a framework for clear implementation actions and strategies for resiliency in light of COVID-19 and the changing retail landscape.”
