Cecile Guay

BIDDEFORD — Cecile Guay, 89, of Biddeford, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Daughter of the late Alexander and Lina Desloges, Cecile was born on April 22, 1931, in Ham-Nord, Quebec. She moved to Biddeford at a young age and went on to graduate from St. Joseph’s High School.

On June 20, 1953, she united in marriage with Robert Guay at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford, and together they had two children.

Cecile was employed by Pratt Whitney in North Berwick for many years, and retired from her position in the 1990s.

She and her husband were active members of the Fremont Club in Biddeford, and she also enjoyed being a part of the Red Hat Society in Florida where the snowbird couple had a home. Cecile and Robert enjoyed travelling, both in the states and abroad.

When not travelling, she could often be found enjoying a game of bingo, building her jigsaw puzzles, or, most importantly, rocking away in her beloved rocking chair. Cecile enjoyed rocking so much, that when in the hospital, her family ensured she had a rocking chair there to make her feel more at home.
