Cecilia “Ceci” DesBarres Berube

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Cecilia “Ceci” DesBarres Berube, died on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford. She was born on May 6, 1933 in River Hebert, Nova Scotia, a daughter of Cornelius and Lillian (LeBlanc) DesBarres. On May 26, 1962 she married Henry Berube and the couple shared 58 years of joy and happiness together. Ceci loved the life she built with Henry. Family was the center of her life and it brought great joy to watch her children and grandchildren grow and flourish. She loved socializing and playing games. She always looked forward to card games and breakfast dates with her wonderful friends and playing Tuck and splashing in the ocean with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence DesBarres and a sister, Freda Gallagher.She is survived by her husband Henry; three children, Michele Agosto (Joe), Stephen Berube (Laurie) and Renee Kowal (John); a sister, Marion McCourt (Bill); seven precious grandchildren: Travis (Ariel), Taylor, Zachary, Olivia, Sarah, Emily and Cole; one beautiful great-granddaughter, Adalia; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring and joyful woman.Though the light in our family’s lives has dimmed, we are comforted in our belief that Ceci has returned to the loving arms of God.A memorial service will be announced later in the summer of 2021.
