LEWISTON – Richard “Rick” A. Doucette Jr., 62, passed away suddenly on April 18. 2021.

Rick was born on May 15, 1958 in Portland where he attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Navy until his medical discharge. He was a hard worker and worked many years roofing, painting, and carpentry. He was employed at Hannafords in Brunswick and Lewiston at the time of his passing.

In his spare time he enjoyed playing pool, going to the beach and watching wrestling and all sports. Most of all he loved spending time with his son, Dawson.

Rick was predeceased by his parents Richard Sr. and Barbara Doucette; and brother-in-law, John LaBonte’.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Lisa Doucette, of Lewiston, who remained to be the love of his life right to the end; also their son, Dawson Doucette; stepson, Matthew Despins and stepdaughter, Whitney who lovingly referred to him as Papa squashy and her three children, daughter Trista Doucette of Westbrook and children Chloe and Brendan, daughters Destiny and Victoria; ex-wife Eve and stepson Arnie; also nieces Krystal, Jennifer and Samantha Doucette, all of Brunswick, nephews Austin Doucette of Brunswick and Christopher Doucette of Portland. Rick is also survived and will be extremely missed by his sister, Carmen LaBonte’ of Brunswick, sister, Laurie Doucette of Connecticut, and brother, Timothy of Florida; his aunt, Donna Waycotte and uncle, Dale Doucette; and many cousins. He also will be missed by his very dear friend, Cindy Hicks.

A private comital was held April 24 at Two Lights and Portland Headlight. Graveside service will be public and announced at a later date at Brooklawn Cemetery in Portland.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made for Rick’s minor son’s college education, Dawson Doucette, c/o Lewiston Municipal Federal Credit Union.
