Carole Z. Verrier

SACO – Carole Z. Verrier, 86 went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2021 in Summerfield, Fla. surrounded by loved ones. Carole was born on April 29, 1935 in Biddeford to Arlette (Hughes) and Roland Lemire. She graduated from Biddeford high school. She married C. Roger Verrier and was a bookkeeper in Boston for Cabot Cabot & Forbes while supporting her husband through Dental school. While she was a stay-at-home mom, Carole took her kids camping at Baxter State Park, swimming at Barker’s Pond, and to many local amusement parks as well as to Orlando, Fla. There were many ski trips to the beautiful ski mountains of Maine.Carole graduated from University of New England’s School of Dental Hygiene in 1971 at the age of 36 while also caring for her four young children. She worked as a dental hygienist alongside her husband, Roger, for 20 years.Carole had many interests and talents including sewing, cross-stitch, knitting and crossword puzzles. She was the best at trivial pursuit and rummy cube. She was an avid golfer winning tournaments in both Maine and Florida. She also volunteered at St. Andre’s Group home for unwed mothers and participated in many fundraising events. Carole enjoyed traveling especially to Europe and Hawaii. She loved taking cruises especially to the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. She cherished each holiday with her family who will have many special memories of her for years to come. Her kindness and compassion for others will forever be remembered.Carole was predeceased by her father and mother, Roland and Arlette Lemire. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Roger Verrier; her four children, Michael (Rae Thompson) Verrier, Catherine Verrier, Patricia McKnight, and Sharon (Scott) Blakeslee; and her five grandchildren, Matthew (Lorena) Verrier, Samantha Verrier, Sarah McKnight, Jordan Blakeslee, and Rachel McKnight; her only great-grandson, Lucas Verrier; her sister, Nancy Botting; and many other friends and family.Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours at Cote Funeral Home on Thursday May 13, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford followed by interment at Laurel Hill cemetery.
