Joan Lyon King
GORHAM – Joan Lyon King, beloved wife of David King, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Binghamton, N.Y. on Oct. 12, 1940 and graduated from Union-Endicott High School in Endicott N.Y. Joan married her husband David in 1961 and served by his side as a pastor’s wife for 54 years including 14 years with SEND International in Russia and Ukraine. Joan resided with her husband in Gorham.
Joan started work at the Binghamton Savings Bank in Binghamton, N.Y. in 1961; Coastal Savings Bank in Hollis as branch manager until 2002 and UNUM Insurance Co. until her retirement in 2013. Joan was a loving wife, mother, Meme.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David; her five children – Teri Bridges (Wayne), Jeffrey King (Christine), Cindy Nevers (Steve), Paula Cohen (Jeff), and Bryan King (Crystal); 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Tom Lyon. Joan was deeply loved by her husband and family.
