Glen R. Herbert
SOUTH PORTLAND – Glen R. Herbert, 68, of Broadway, passed peacefully on May 19, 2021, at Maine Medical Center.
Glen was born in Concord, N.H., on Aug. 8, 1952, the son of the late Raymond W. and Simone T. (Valliere) Herbert.
Glen married the love his life, Julie A. Peynado, on July 19, 1994, at Spurwink Church in Cape Elizabeth.
Most of Glen’s working career was spent running his own computer consulting business from which he retired in 2015 due to ill health. In his spare time, he loved watching movies, following the New England Patriots, traveling, and he loved to cook. His true passion was working with computer’s; he was very tech oriented. He loved to spend time with his wife and family and was always willing to help others. Glen will be remembered as a kind, caring and loving person.
Glen was predeceased by a brother, Russell S. Herbert.
He is survived by his wife of 27years, Julie Herbert of South Portland; step daughters Lisa B. Patel of New York, Sheena M. Patel of Windham; stepson, Shashi B. Patel, of Massachusetts; half-sister, Melody Ruthier of Berwick; two half-brothers’, Keith Herbert of Berwick and Ray Stevens of Asia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating Glen’s life will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 1 p.m., at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, Maine.
