Ernest Morse Jr.

GRAY – Ernest Morse Jr., 83, died July 10, 2021.

Born August 13, 1937 in Bangor to Ernest and Lorraine Spinney Morse. He was the oldest of six boys.

Ernie grew up in South Portland and attended local schools and moved to Gray in 1956. He married Carol Currier in 1960 and they had one son, Stephen. In 1965 they bought a home from Fred Adler in a new housing development and they made many great friends like Ralph and Wilma Gordon, who they would like to thank for all their help.

He had a passion for fixing up automobiles. He started his career at Pape Chevrolet, working there for 18 years. Ernie opened Ernie’s Autobody shop on Forest Avenue in Portland.

Ernie will be missed by his wife, Carol; son, Steve; brothers James, Richard, and Charles; sister-in-law, Phyllis and brother-in-law, Andrew Francour, brother and sister-in-law, Dennis Currier and MaryAnn; great friends David and Elaine Murdock. Ernie you’re in my heart forever, your wife. Love Carol.

There is no funeral at his request.
