Eugene St. Clair Jr.

WINDHAM – It is with deep sadness and rejoicing that we announce that Gene went home to be with his Lord and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 5, 2021. He was courageous in the years he battled many medical issues he suffered, because of his exposure to Agent Orange, which finally took him.

Gene was the son of Eugene St. Clair, Sr. and Anita M. L. St. Clair, born August 2, 1941.

Gene graduated from Cheverus High School where he played four years of football. After high school he joined the United States Air Force. He served for seven years in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. He truly served his country with honor and often said he would do it again.

On Dec. 31,1970 he married the love of his life, Debbie Farrington, spending 50 years with her. During that time he attended college on the GI Bill majoring in business administration and education. He earned his degree from Liberty College, Knoxville, Tenn., graduating in 1982. Also during this time he worked at several financial institutions. In 1980 he became the principal/teacher at Grace Baptist Church School. Portland, where he loved his students deeply, hoping he would make a positive Godly influence on their lives. Gene retired from teaching in 1999.

Gene loved the Lord with all his heart, teaching his children to do the same. He was a caring loving father, papa and great-papa making sure to spend as much quality time with them as he physically could.

Gene leaves behind his loving wife Debbie; children, son, Michael (Jessica) St. Clair and daughter, Melissa Oldakowski; grandchildren granddaughter Lilly Rose Steele, five grandsons, Michael Christopher (Megan) St. Clair, Brandon LaPointe, Andrew St. Clair, Zachary St. Clair and Kastle Oldakowski; three great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Macie, Miles and a new one on the way; two brothers and two sisters, David (Sandra) St. Clair and Richard (Nikki) St. Clair, Jane Underwood and Lisa (John) Hines. Gene also leaves his mother-in-law, Harriet Farrington; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Bobbi and Richard Mason and Fred and Jackie Farrington; along with many nieces and nephews.

Gene is predeceased by his Mom and Dad; his sister, Kathleen Murphy, sister-in-law, Kathy Farrington; and father-in-law, LeRoy Farrington.

We are truly thankful that we were able to celebrate Gene’s 80th birthday with a surprise birthday BBQ which he greatly enjoyed. Thank you to all that attended.

A big thank you to the doctors, nurses and CNA’s that attended to his every need.

A service will be held on Sept. 25 at 11 a.m., New Gloucester Bible Church, 218 Lewiston Rd, (Route 100), New Gloucester.
