Robert “Bob” Edward Casparius Sr.

FALMOUTH – Robert “Bob” Edward Casparius Sr., 90, of Winn Road, passed away on Jan. 22, 2022. He was born on Nov. 28, 1931 in South Portland, the son of Jennie Wilhelmina (Bartsch) Casparius and Richard Ernst Casparius.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carlene Lois (Young) of 70 years, and their four children, sons, Robert Jr., Wayne and wife Diane, daughters, Gaye Rhodes and husband Fredrick, Lisa Carver and husband Robert; grandchildren, Paul Tompkins and wife Meg, Nicholas Casparius and wife Sara, Allison (Carver) Axelsen and husband Neil, Amanda Carver, Marissa Rhodes, Kayleigh Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Asher and Logan Tompkins.

Robert was predeceased by his parents; along with his brother, Richard Casparius, sisters Carleen Wallace, Alice Radigan.

From the age of 3, Robert grew up on the family farm in Falmouth. He graduated from Falmouth High school in 1950. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force, and later in the Main Air National Guard, serving a total of 38 years. In 1970 Robert and Carlene took over the Casparius Egg Farm until the early ’80s, at which time they opened the Windham Photo Barn. Even in retirement, Robert continued to work, and found ways to stay busy.

Robert’s presence always lit up the room due to his quick wit, sense of humor, and charisma. He was a proud father and Papa. He enjoyed coin collecting, photography, and making everyone around him smile. He truly lived a FANTASTIC life, and will be deeply missed by all.
