Marilyn Jacobson

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Marilyn R. Jacobson, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 1, 2022.

Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Maine and worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone until she married Al (Albert) Jacobson. They raised their children in Portland and lived out the latter half of their lives between Boca Raton, Fla. and Old Orchard Beach.

Marilyn is survived by her children Tama Bevan (Hugh), Todd Jacobson (Lorie), Gary Jacobson (Amy) and Ronda Wolpert (Hank); grandchildren Sean Hammarstrom, Jillian Jacobson, Matthew, Joshua and Jordan Jacobson; sister, Jo-Ann Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Barbara Alexander and Ann Cohen, and her brother, Mark Needelman.

Marilyn had a playful, creative spirit and a passion for entertaining and theme decorating. A holiday or occasion didn’t go by where her wardrobe, table and condo didn’t reflect it. She enjoyed watching cooking shows, antiquing, watching old movies, listening to music and was an avid Patriots fan. Marilyn will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, generosity, quick wit and smile.

The family expresses appreciation to Cathy Twoohey, her special friend and to our team at Northern Light Home Care and Hospice and FCP Live-In. Without all of your support Marilyn’s request to remain at home wouldn’t have been possible.

“Mom, Nana, MaeMae although you are not with us in body, you will always live on in our hearts. We love and miss you”.

The family requests that donations in her memory be made to:
