BUXTON – Durward T. Lang, 84, passed away on Feb. 20, 2022, after a long battle with dementia.

He was born in Bar Mills on May 31, 1937, a son of the late Clarence and Kathleen Lang.

Durward met his wife, Janet, when he was 16 years old, and they immediately fell in love. They were married on May 21, 1955.

Durward served in the Maine Army National Guard. He worked at S.D. Warren for 34 years. Durward was also active with the Bar Mills / Buxton Fire Department for over 50 years.

Durward enjoyed many things. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, four wheeling and snowmobiling.

Durward is predeceased by his sister Roberta, two sons, Van and Glen, and two great grandsons.

Durward is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet, his son, Victor and his wife Lauri of New Gloucester, seven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Ann, and two brothers, Brian and Gary.

There will be no services per his request. He will be buried at South Buxton Cemetery at a later date.
