Brian “Scott” Miller

EDGEMOOR, S.C. – Brian “Scott” Miller passed away on March 20, 2022 in Edgemoor, S.C. with his mother and brother at his side.

Brian was born in Portland on August 17, 1980 to Richard and Linda Miller. “Scott,” as he preferred to be called, graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and Northeast Technical Institute as a computer technician. In his younger years he was active in both Cub and Boy Scouts, earning awards in marksmanship, which continued to be a hobby in his adult life. He was an avid lover of animals and the outdoors.

He worked a number of years for Time Warner as a computer trouble shooter in their business division. When they closed that division in Portland, he was offered a job in Buffalo, N.Y. or Charlotte, N.C. Given his dislike for Maine winters, he jumped at the chance to go to Charlotte, N.C. He continued to work for a couple of years at Spectrum. When Time Warner merged with Spectrum, he left to pursue other adventures.

Scott was a very kind and giving person. He once bought a box of each kind of Girl Scout cookies so that those girls could win for the most sales. Scott believed that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. He eventually bought a home in South Carolina where he lived with his beloved dog, Bea Bea until his passing.

“Scott” is survived by his mother, Linda; and brother, Richard of Cape Elizabeth; and his father, Richard and stepmother, Elizabeth, of Freeport.
