Concert schedule

Boys Gone Wild will be in concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, at Vallee Square; free.

Quiet Riot Act, 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, Riverbank Park; free.

Brother Blues, 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, Conant Homestead, 99 Conant St. Farm opens at 6 p.m. Suggested donation $10.

National Night Out

Westbrook Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, in the back parking lot at St. Hyacinth’s Church, 268 Brown St.

The event features fun, activities, free food and meeting Westbrook officers.

The event held nationwide is an opportunity to build community relationships with law enforcement.

50 years ago

The American Journal on July 26, 1972, reported that Mr. and Mrs. Amos Hawkes of Hardy Road and Marion Gordon of Duck Pond Road had returned to Westbrook after a five-week, 9,600-mile trip to the West Coast and Canada.
