Marion Althea Day

BRUNSWICK – Marion Althea Day passed away on Oct. 3, 2022 at Horizons Living and Rehabiltation Center in Brunswick with her daughter and grandson by her side.

Mrs. Day was born on Dec. 21, 1921, in Portland, Maine to her Irish immigrant parents, William and Marion Dunn. She graduated from Portland High School and married Richard P. Day. They were married for 60 years. Mr. Day was a 33rd-degree Mason in the Scottish Rite, and Althea was a member of the Eastern Star.

Richard predeceased her on July 16, 2016. She was also predeceased by a son, Richard Zenia Kalesnick (California).

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Day Young (Maine), a son, Sergeant Major Peter Michael Kalesnick (Kentucky); a beloved niece, Susan Hall Taylor (Maine); and many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Sapling Hill Cemetery in Gorham.
