LEWISTON – Stephen A. Hasson passed away on Nov. 16, 2022, following a brief illness. He was born in Portland, Maine, on Aug. 20, 1958, to Robert G. Hasson Sr. and Genevieve I. Hasson.

Raised in South Portland, Stephen attended Holy Cross School and graduated South Portland High School in 1977. He married Theresa Rice Hasson and together, they raised two daughters, Rebecca and Amanda. Stephen worked for over 30 years for the Maine Department of Corrections.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents; sisters Mary Hasson and Kate Hasson and brother Paul Hasson. Stephen is survived by daughter Rebecca French (Eric) of New Gloucester, daughter Amanda Jacobs (Isaac) of Wilton; granddaughters Paige and Stella French; long-time partner Susan Carr of Lewiston; her son Nicholas Levesque and his daughter Zoey Levesque. Also surviving are three brothers, James Hasson (Beverly Johnson) of South Portland, Robert G. Hasson Jr. (Susan) of Sabattus, Christopher Hasson (Lynne) of South Portland; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday Nov. 26, 2022, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at Bates College Perry Atrium/Pettengill Hall, with a 1 p.m. service in Gomes Chapel at Bates College.
