Robert Wales Leason
TOPSHAM – Robert Wales Leason, 92, died Thursday March 9, 2023.
He was born July 24, 1930 in Hyde Park, Mass., the son of Edwin and Charlotte (Pickard) Leason. He was a graduate of Vermont Academy and UMass Amherst. His college education was interrupted and resumed after his dedicated service to country as a captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He married Barbara Walker in Presque Isle on Dec. 31, 1955.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Brunswick. Robert was a top salesman for Corning in Detroit, Mich.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Cleveland, Ohio, before moving to Maine to work for Central Maine Power. He retired from CMP as their marketing manager in 1992 after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Augusta for several decades.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; and grandson, Derek Crowe.
He is survived by a son, Steven Leason of Selinsgrove, Pa., a daughter, Cynthia Crowe and husband Dennis of Gorham; four grandchildren, Owen Leason, Sarah Wren Leason, Adeline Leason, Kelsey Crowe; and sister-in-law, Alice Leason.
Robert is also survived by numerous loving nephews and nieces located around the country.
A graveside service with military honors will be announced for later this year in Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Augusta.
